A couple of days ago, Javier López and Mariluz Santacruz sent me the following information about a new climbing area (near the existing ones) in the Mazucu area. The area looks very promising, and with the shade after 2 pm, it should be a good option for summer afternoons and also in the autumn.
Note: In common with the nearby crags, Caldueño and Cabeza Alta, there will be a bird ban during the period from December 15th to August 31st. No climbing.
SECTOR REJALLU
Location and approach: The crag is located in the village of Mazucu. To access the crag, go to the entrance of the village. To the left of the small chapel, take the unpaved uphill track, which is the same road used to reach the “Cabeza Alta” crag. We climb a few meters until this wide track ends, and just before starting the ascent to “Cabeza Alta,” we veer slightly to the left, passing under some hazel trees. Halfway up the slope, we continue ascending to the left. There are several stone cairns marking the way up. The approach takes about 15 or 20 minutes. The crag is clearly visible from the road and the village.

Notes: Shade from about 2 PM onwards. Pay attention to the rope length on routes 3, 4, and 5 (between 40 and 45 meters).
Parking: The village is very small and has very little parking space. Avoid driving too many vehicles, especially large ones. It is important to be careful not to encroach on public roads or private property with your vehicles.
Attention: This is an agricultural and livestock area. As always, dogs must be kept on a leash and under control at all times. There may be goats or sheep above the cliffs; be alert for possible rockfalls.
